Body Composition Analysis & Fitness Consultation

Understand Your Body Beyond the Scales

Your weight alone doesn't tell the full story. Our Body Composition Analysis & Fitness Consultation gives you a much clearer picture of what is happening inside your body, helping you understand your muscle mass, body fat, visceral fat, body water, bone mineral content, metabolic rate and more.

At MYGYM studio, this service is about much more than simply receiving a printout of numbers.

We take the time to talk you through your results, explain what they mean and help you turn that information into realistic, achievable fitness goals.

Why Body Composition Matters

Two people can weigh exactly the same but have very different levels of muscle, body fat and overall body composition.

This is particularly important when you are strength training. You may be losing body fat while building muscle, meaning the number on the scales changes very little even though your body is changing significantly.

Body composition analysis allows us to look beyond body weight and focus on the bigger picture.

What We Will Track and Look At

Your full body composition analysis can provide information including:

  • Body weight
  • BMI
  • Body fat percentage
  • Fat mass
  • Fat-free mass
  • Muscle mass
  • Skeletal mass
  • Bone mineral content
  • Total body water
  • Intracellular water
  • Extracellular water
  • Protein mass
  • Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR)
  • Visceral fat
  • Metabolic age
  • Overall health score

Turn Your Results into Action - Your Initial Consultation

Your first appointment gives us the opportunity to establish your starting point and understand what you would like to achieve.

Alongside your body composition scan, we'll discuss your current exercise, lifestyle and goals before talking through your results together.

From there, we can identity realistic areas to focus on and give you personalised fitness and exercise guidance to help you move forward.

There is no expectation that your results need to look a certain way. The purpose of the consultation is simply to give you more information about your body and help you use it in a positive, practical way.

Follow-Up Reviews

The real value of body composition analysis often comes from looking at changes over time.

Follow-up reviews allow us to repeat your scan, compare your measurements with your previous results and look at the trends that are not be visible from weight alone.

For example, your body weight may stay relatively stable while your muscle mass increases and body fat decreases - progress that would be completely missed if you were only watching the scales.

Your follow-up appointment also gives us the chance to review your goals and update your exercise guidance as you progress.

We recommend trying to complete your scans under similar conditions each time where possible.

Booking at a similar time of day and keeping factors such as food, hydration and exercise reasonably consistent can help make comparisons between your results more meaningful.

Your Results are Information - Not a Judgement

We believe body composition should be used as a tool to help you understand your body, not as something to judge yourself by.

No single measurement defines your health, fitness or progress.

Your hydration, recent exercie, food intake, menstrual cycle and other factors can all influence body composition readings, which is why we look at your results as part of the bigger picture and place greater emphasis on long-term trends rather than individual numbers.

Know Your Start. Track Your Progress

Whether you are just starting your fitness journey or have been training for years, understanding your body composition can give you another way to recognise progress beyond the bathroom scales.

Know your start.

Understand your body.

Track your progress.

And let's achieve your goals together!
